Slow Feedz encourages dogs to eat at a more natural pace, and using it to serve tasty treats sparks your dogs’ interest, all while providing healthy mental and physical stimulation that keeps your dog happy and healthy.

You can use the Slow Feedz with every kind of food you would with a normal dog bowl, with the addition of licking mat section. Using a variety of different foods keeps the challenge interesting. If you have a real guzzle gut of a dog, this is the perfect solution, as you can take Slow Feedz apart and use each section individually.

Here are our Top 5 Healthy Treats You Can Serve With Our Slow Feedz.

Peanut Butter

If warm months have your pup feeling a little overheated, this cool treat will probably help. The Humane Society recommends mixing one cup of peanut butter (unsalted and unsweetened, ideally) with half mashed banana and some water. You can then use our Slow Feedz to serve this tasty mix up, and place in the freezer the night before. Side note; The good news is that regular peanut butter is safe to give your dog as a treat. The ingredient causing the problem is Xylitol, a sugar substitute found in lower or sugar-free products. If the peanut butter you give your dog doesn't contain Xylitol, then your furry friend can enjoy it.

Cooked Lean Meat

If you’re looking for a high reward dog treat that will surely grab their attention, try some lean chicken. Plain, boiled chicken breast with no oil or seasoning can be suitable – cutting up into tiny pieces around the size of your fingernail works best. In addition to being gentle on most stomachs, chicken is filled with omega-6 fatty acids that promote healthy skin and coat.

Bacon and Cheese

A combination of bacon and cheese is a delicious treat that delights all types of dogs while providing an easy, no-mess solution for pet parents. This highly-digestible and trans-fat-free treat is an enticingly delicious addition to a dog enrichment product like Slow Feedz.

Apple slices

Apple slices can make a tasty dog treat for training. Aside from being deliciously crunchy, apples can help clean leftover gunk off your dog’s teeth and freshen their breath! The apples should be sliced small enough to avoid choking and only fed in moderation due to the sugar content. Serving the sliced apple chunks in an enrichment dog toy like Slow Feedz can be another great way to not only make your friend excited but also keep them interested in trying new foods.

Yoghurt is one of our favourite treats to put in Slow Feedz, as it can be mixed with many other foods and frozen overnight. It can also act as a great distraction if you lather the yoghurt onto the licking mat portion and suction it onto a wall during grooming time!

While using a Slow Feedz is useful as a dog enrichment product, the considerations to have in mind are many. Check on the quality of the food you are serving with the Slow Feedz and make sure to give all 4 mats a good wipe down after use.
